AMELIA ISLAND, FLORIDA

Amelia Island is a beautiful barrier island located just North of Jacksonville, Fl. The Island boasts 13 miles of pristine beaches, vast history of pirates and smuggling, a Civil War era fort, a historic lighthouse and plenty of shopping, golfing, and world class resorts and restaurants. 

The Timucuan Indians were the original inhabitants of Amelia Island. The tall proud people peacefully lived on the Island until French explorer Jean Ribault claimed the Island on behalf of France in 1562. In 1702, the British solider James Oglethorpe, took control of the Island and officially named it Amelia after King George’s daughter Princess Amelia. In total, 8 flags have flown over Amelia Island, making it the only place in the Nation that has been under the control of 8 different flags, hence the nickname “Isle of  Eight flags”.  The Island is truly one-of-a-kind. 

On the South end of Amelia Island, attendees will find pristine beaches, two world class resorts, spas, fine dinning restaurants and numerous golf courses.

On the Northern end of Amelia Island, attendees will find Historic Downtown of Fernandina Beach, the  birthplace of the modern shrimping industry. Time in between performances can be spent shopping, enjoying numerous restaurants, bars, visiting museums and art galleries. Attendees can stroll along quaint streets lined with historic victorian homes and end the day watching the sunset over the marina. The beauty of the Island is unmatched.
